Celtics would be testing the Spurs in their Territory
Celtics versus Spurs
The Celtics are on a role winning the last six games while the San Antonio Spurs are in a slump, loosing their last three. The Defending champions are currently in sixth place of the Western Conference and are third in the Division Next to the surging New Orleans Hornets.
Ray Allen on the other hand is questionable to play this Monday. The Celtics will be coming of a 99-77 win over the Milwaukee Bucks even without Allen. The Celtics are the Number 1 team in the league and looks like it would remain that way for the rest of the season. Also the first team to get a playoff birth, the Celtics will be going through some rough waters in their next couple of games. They would be pitted against
This stretch of games will sure test the Celtics if they are to be heralded as the team to beat, as if they’re not.
The Spurs as of this time are trying to find the old form that made them a yearly contender for the Championship. Getting close calls against the Phoenix Suns last year, if not for the hip check Robert Horry gave Steve Nash and the gash on his nose, the Finals last year would have been a different picture. Despite that not so pretty sight, the Spurs are known for their ferocity and unmatched defense. Most of this year has a different story. Unable to hold the 76ers under 100 points, loosing drive in the closing seconds against Detroit and being held to just 8 points in the final quarter against the Hornets are just a few obstacles the Spurs handled the wrong way.
The Spread for this game ranges from no points to a gap of 3 points. Things are uncertain yet as of this time. Although one thing I’m sure of is that if the San Antonio Spurs could manage to win against the Boston Celtics, they would win by the slimmest of margins. Being a betting man, I would rather put my cash on the Celtics. They’re not number one for nothing.
