French Open 2008 Betting Guide
After this year’s Hamburg Masters, I think we have a clear cut winner for next weeks French Open. Rafael Nadal always shines on the Clay court.
There are a few ATP Players that can stand a chance or have the slimmest of chances to win against Rafael Nadal. Much has been documented for the Spaniard on clay. Year’s have past by and Rafael Nadal has refined what in reality doesn’t need anymore improvement.
The Skills that Rafael Nadal has accumulated over the past has seemed to be evident even with his colleagues.
“Rafa has played incredibly well again the whole week and the whole clay season,” Roger Federer told the 11,000 spectators at the Rothenbaum after receiving his trophy.
Although Roger Federer once again was eluded by another clay championship, the set scores show how hard the competition was between the 1st and 2nd seeds (7-5 6-7 6-3). The total Record of Rafael Nadal against Roger Federer is 10-6 while managing 8-1 on clay.
At a point in the 1st set in there Hamburg match, Rafael Nadal had to take a medical timeout recognizing spasms in his right hamstring. Even when Rafael Nadal was under 2-5, he rallied to a 7-5 closer for the set.
Also in the same Hamburg Masters, Rafael Nadal emerged victorious in a three hour semi-final battle against closest rival Novak Djokovic.
Other hopefuls are Nikolay Davydenko, the Americans Andy Roddick and James Blake, and David Nalbandian who are all gunning to be next to Roger Federer in the ATP standings.
For the betting community, don’t let your hopes up high on other players. Despite being the world’s undisputed number one, Roger Federer does not stand a chance in the French Open. Well at least to win it. He may reach the finals, however Rafael Nadal Can be an enormous obstacle when in comes to clay. To bad, so sad for him it’s all just on clay.
