Danny ‘THE__D__RY’ Ryan Wins Big on Sunday
Talk about a mad rush. For Danny ‘THE__D__RY’ Ryan, Sunday was a big payday waiting to happen. Ryan went on a poker rampage to wreak havoc on the two biggest online events on Sunday—PokerStars’ Sunday Million and Full Tilt’s $750,000 Guarantee. Ryan finished in 23rd place at Full Tilt’s online poker and came from behind to win PokerStar’s Sunday Million.
PokerStars’ Sunday Million had 7,755 participants and a staggering $1,551,000 prize pool. At the start of the final table, Ryan was in the middle of the pack with 7,502,280 in chips—a small stack compared to the 17,204,381 chips wielded by the chip leader who goes by the name “Parachuting.”
Although parachuting held on the chip lead even as the game came down to three players, he eventually succumbed and finished in third place. Tables turned when parachuting bet out on the button to 2,400,000 and was re-raised by Ryan to 6,600,000. Parachuting shoved all his chips in the middle with Ah, 7h only to find himself in major trouble when Ryan called with Ac, Kd. The flop was a dangerous 5h,10h,Jc but the turn and river were blanks giving Ryan chip lead. Parachuting busted out in the next hand with $86,856.
In heads up, Ryan’s 63,255,776 proved to be insurmountable as his opponent
“xfadomas666” had only 14,294,224. After seven hands, Ryan hit a nut straight to claim victory and $189,997.50 in prize money. Xfadomas666 won $128,112.60 for second place.
The Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee attracted 3,644 players. Ryan won $2,775 for his very respectable 23rd finish but this tournament belonged to MicoTx who stormed back from a 4:1 deficit going into heads-up play to win over Wasaki coke. MicoTx won $132,787.50 for his victory.
