Macau’s casino gaming revenue rose by 22 per cent in 2006, taking $6.95 billion, surpassing the Las Vegas strip as the world’s biggest casino market.

Macau attracted 22 million visitors for the year, an increase of 17 per cent from 2005, and boasted a fourth quarter revenue increase of 43 per cent from the year before.
